In the shadow of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Old Town Alexandria, a young couple needed more space for their growing family, but loved the bungalow-style home they had. A new second story and renovation to their existing floor plan provided better flow and larger common spaces—and room for a new staircase. With two new bedrooms and a rear deck for the master suite, the owners gained the living and play space they desperately needed.
