The owner of this District of Columbia townhouse wanted an open floor plan for the living areas and a master bath upstairs. So, we converted the back porch into a breakfast nook and took out a wall between the kitchen and dining room to open the space for dining and entertaining. Creating a tower on the back of the home provided the additional space for the master bath and added lots of daylight in both new spaces.
